Volunteer Opportunities

Your assistance is a priceless gift
Volunteers become our residents' link to the community, and your commitment shows our residents that they are not forgotten and that they are still valued. Last year, 1,642 volunteers logged 70,236 hours of service.
Each year, our Volunteer Department works groups and individuals, matching your interests and abilities to our needs. We offer many different opportunities and a flexible schedule. We provide an orientation and a helpful handbook. We welcome retirees, students, families, and even pets.
One volunteer project in the news is "Lessons of a LifeTime."TM Volunteers help elderly residents compose ethical wills, which are not legal documents, but messages to their families that convey their values and lessons learned over a lifetime.
Junior Volunteers (age 14+) and college students are encouraged to participate in a variety of volunteer programs, including our 2009 summer internship program. A minimum 150 hours commitment is required (except for student musicians and those with above-average writing skills who are working on the Ethical Wills project.
