Builders of the Future Society Luncheon

Builders of the Future Society members and their guests were treated to a delicious luncheon in the newly dedicated Evelyn Auerbach Social Hall in Ring House featuring big-band music performed by the Danielle Westphal Trio. Builders Arnold Spevack and Sharon Siegel gave heartfelt opening remarks and Warren R. Slavin, President/CEO at Charles E. Smith Life Communities delivered keynote remarks about trends in Eldercare and how Charles E. Smith is addressing them.

Friends of Charles E. Smith Life Communities and their guests attended a tea chaired by Ms. Marcia J. Hahn at the Leisure World Clubhouse in silver Spring, Maryland. Tovah Kasdin, JD, director of the newly-launched ElderSAFE program at Charles E. Smith Life Communities, spoke about the prevalence of elder abuse, what ElderSAFE provides, ways in which we can be ambassadors to help bring elder abuse out into the open, and help friends, family, and community members get the help that they need.

Protecting Seniors from Financial Abuse: A Seminar for Allied Professionals

March 2015

Financial planners, attorneys, accountants, insurance professionals, and social workers learned about the prevalence of, ability to spot, and effective ways to address senior financial abuse from leaders in the field, including Elizabeth Loewy, Barbara Mulitz, Debbie Feinstein, Bryan Roslund, Susan K. Arthur, Naomi Karp, and Howard Tischler. Continuing education credits are available for attendees. CohnReznick co-sponsored the event.


Builders of the Future Society Luncheon

June 2015

Those who have included Charles E. Smith Life Communities in their estate plan or made other deferred gifts and their guests were honored at this year's festive luncheon. The Wasserman residence was the site of the event so attendees could easily walk over to where we dedicated the new Builders of the Future recognition wall -  located across from the Ratner Salon on the first floor.
