Meet Monica Mayer

Monica Mayer 2016

"I was raised to give back to my community and help those in need and I enjoy being around others with similar beliefs."

We're delighted to welcome to the CESLC staff Monica Mayer, our new Volunteer Department manager. She brings unmatched knowledge, expertise, and high energy to the position.

"I really wanted this job," says Monica, explaining how she specifically relocated to Maryland from Columbus, Ohio to become part of our team. A graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where she earned an undergraduate degree in Social Work, she also holds a master’s degree in Human Services Management from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.

Monica has nearly 20 years of volunteer management experience working for various nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining CESLC, she worked for an organization in the Columbus Jewish community very similar to ours. There, starting in 2009, she managed volunteers for the organization's rehab center, nursing home, assisted living/memory assisted living facilities, independent housing, and hospice.

When not working, Monica enjoys spending time with friends and family, volunteering, and traveling.
