Hebrew Home lays cornerstone for Spring Road

Ceremonies are held to lay the cornerstone at Spring Road and Tenth Street, NW, for a new Hebrew Home for the Aged and Hospital, estimated to cost $250,000. Mrs. Charles A. Goldsmith, “Aunt Minnie,” speaks as Chairman of the Building Fund Committee. Harry Sherby, Esq., is President of the Hebrew Home.

The Washington Herald reports that honors for placing the first trowel of mortar on the stone, and setting the first stone, were auctioned to the highest bidders, R. B. Behrend (for $1,600) and Mrs. Harry Sherby (for $500).
